Boys' Basketball: Kansas School for Deaf 40, Missouri School for Deaf 30

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The No. 4 seed MSD Eagles couldn't knock off the top-seeded KSD Jackrabbits in the semifinals of the Great Plains Schools for the Deaf Tournament on Friday afternoon.

MSD (10-6) trailed 10-8 after the first quarter and was behind 18-13 at halftime. KSD then outscored the Eagles 12-4 in the third quarter to increase its lead to 30-17.

Senior point guard Ste'Quan Scott topped MSD with 11 points and two assists. Freshman center Mikal Meriwether added 10 points and seven rebounds.

Jayman Washington connnected for a game-high 28 points to guide the Jackrabbits.

The Eagles reached the semifinals by outlasting No. 5 seed Arkansas School for the Deaf 33-31 in first-round play Thursday afternoon. MSD carried a 23-13 advantage into the fourth quarter and was able to preserve the victory despite being outscored by the Leopards 18-10 over the last 8 minutes.

Scott directed the Eagles with a double-double of 10 points and 13 steals, while Meriwether provided eight points and seven rebounds. Senior forward Scotty Percy and senior guard Marcus Smith contributed six points apiece.

Shaq'Ke Robinson led ASD with a game-high 14 points.
