Varsity wrestling: Fulton 48, Boonville 27

The Hornets moved their season record to 3-0 by toppling the Pirates in their home and North Central Missouri Conference opener at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium on Tuesday night.

Sophomore Jackson Caswell (120 pounds) and freshmen Eston Dews (126), David Gibson (16o) and Sheldyn Johnson (195) each won their matches by pin for Fulton.

The Hornets were coming off a ninth-place finish (249 points) at the Fort Zumwalt North Tournament last Saturday. Hrabovsky captured the title at 113 pounds to guide Fulton, while Tucker Caswell, Bristol and Jackson Caswell each took third at 138, 182 and 120, respectively.

Dews also finished fifth at 126 pounds.

The Hornets travel to Sedalia for duals against host Smith-Cotton and Rock Bridge at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
