Cross Country: North Callaway girls win title at Elsberry Invitational

ELSBERRY, Mo. - Junior Reyna Schmauch took top individual honors with a time of 21 minutes, 6.96 as the North Callaway Ladybirds captured the team title at the Elsberry Invitational on Monday.

Freshman Daelyn Schmauch was next in third place in 21:46.09 as North Callaway recorded 23 points. Also medalling for the Ladybirds were junior Kyla Bertschinger (fourth, 22:37.40), freshman Brianna Douglas (12th, 25:02.60), and junior Brooke Fischer (17th, 25:41.03).

Sophomore Khobi Kellerman was North Callaway's lone medalist in the varsity boys' division, finishing 15th in 19:34.84 as the Thunderbirds placed seventh as a team with 174 points. Other North Callaway finishers included sophomore Ean Rohrbach (35th, 21:49.27), sophomore Joshua Craghead (41st, 22:44.43), sophomore Joshua McCowan (42nd, 22:56.59), and junior Jared Bailey (48th, 23:46.53).

In the middle school girls' division, Kaleigh Moore took first place individually in 9:15.77 to direct North Callaway to a second-place team finish with 51 points. Also medalling for the Ladybirds were Julisa Moreno (fifth, 10:01.03) and Rachael Jeffries (sixth, 10:05.01).

Hannah Cundiff placed 16th in 11:07.21 and Lydia Books was 27th in 11:51.92.

Placing for the Thunderbirds in the middle school boys' division were Joseph Crawford (44th, 10:44.54) and Noah Scrogum (46th, 10:52.27).

North Callaway runs in the Moberly Invitational at 4 p.m. today.
