BOONVILLE, Mo. - The Fulton Lady Hornets slipped to 6-12 overall and 4-5 in the North Central Missouri Conference after Tuesday night's loss to the Boonville Lady Pirates.
Junior Hannah Newman finished 2-for-2 with a run batted in as Fulton managed only six hits. Senior Hannah Sparks was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while junior Kaylie Mobley went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Junior Kendalyn Roesner also finished 1-for-2 and scored a run.
Freshman starter Taylor Kettle was tagged with the loss for the Lady Hornets, surrendering six runs and eight hits over just two innings. Kettle struck out one and issued a walk.
Roesner worked the final three innings, allowing 10 runs and seven hits. She struck out three and walked three.
Fulton plays a varsity doubleheader at NCMC rival Mexico at 5 p.m. Thursday.
