MOBERLY, Mo. - Shortstop Payton Mosley had three hits and five runs batted in as part of a 12-hit attack as the Fulton Middle School Lady Hornets breezed past the Moberly Lady Spartans on Thursday night.
Mosley went 3-for-3 with a triple and scored twice as Fulton Middle School raised its season record to 4-1. Second baseman Karsyn Arthur also finished 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.
Winning pitcher Sydney Hedgpath struck out 10.
Second baseman Rylee Caswell was 2-for-2 and the Lady Hornets collected six hits in an 8-1 triumph in the seventh-grade game.
Pitcher Kara Schoening collected the win for FMS (4-1), striking out three.
The Lady Hornets' seventh-grade team plays in the Troy Tournament on Saturday.
Both FMS squads host Winfield at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29.
