Volleyball: Wright City 2, North Callaway 1

WRIGHT CITY, Mo. - Senior middle hitter Colleen Meffert tallied 17 kills and 19 digs for the North Callaway Ladybirds in Tuesday night's 25-22, 11-25 and 25-19 Eastern Missouri Conference loss to the Wright City Lady Wildcats.

Junior outside hitter Nicole Emmons added a team-high 25 digs, three aces and two kills for North Callaway (9-13-1), while senior defensive specialist Callista Dollinger provided 18 digs. Junior outside hitter Sydney Harrison and senior defensive specialist Kendal Nolting contributed 14 and 13 digs, respectively.

Junior setter Allyson Eichman also handed out 20 assists for the Ladybirds.

"The girls played pretty well, but we just had a difficult time recovering from little deficits in the first and third sets," North Callaway head coach Jessica Hager said. "They kept battling until the end, which is all I can ask.

"We can learn from tonight and work on a few things to get ready for some tough upcoming games this week and next week."

The Ladybirds finish the regular season with a non-conference match against Father Tolton in Columbia at 5:30 p.m. today.
