Fulton girls finish third in cross country at Boonville

BOONVILLE, Mo. - Junior Adrea Shadbolt finished 18th in 26 minutes, 40.8 seconds to direct the Fulton Lady Hornets to a third-place team finish at the Boonville Invitational on Tuesday.

In the varsity boys' race, sophomore Zach Schwinkie placed 11th in 18:58.2 as Fulton came in fourth. With the Hornets' normal varsity lineup taking the day off, junior varsity runners filled those slots.

Junior Nicole Efferson was right behind Shadbolt in 19th place for the Fulton girls, logging a time of 26:41.6. Senior Katie Lowry came in 20th in 26:51.0, sophomore Molly Huff took 21st in 26:51.2, sophomore Mary Schnoebelen was 22nd in 26:55.7 and junior Olivia Rice finished 27th in 29:48.8.

Freshman Alex Armstrong also placed 19th in 19:58.2 for the Fulton boys, while senior Jared Eliuk came in 20th in 20:06.9. Sophomore Aaron Eliuk took 43rd in 23:28.1 and junior Tyler Hickerson was 49th in 26:08.1.

Sophomore Anne Bonderer took first place in 27:32.3 in the girls' JV race to pace four medalists for the Lady Hornets. Bonderer was followed by a trio of freshmen - Alexis Martin (third, 31:37.7), Ainsley Bobbitt (fourth, 31:43.9), and Caitlin Seivert (fifth, 33:55.0).

Placing for Fulton in the boys' JV race were three sophomores - Clayton Prettyman (sixth, 23:15.4), Devin Wagaman (12th, 26:58.1), and Bud Wood (13th, 28:45.7).

Fulton runs in the (Camdenton) Laker 5K at Ha Ha Tonka State Park at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.
