Fulton junior varsity boys take third in own cross country invitational

The Fulton Hornets scored 81 points to take third place at the Fulton Invitational at the high school athletic complex on Saturday.

Junior Elia Lunesu took fourth place with a 19 minute, 23.40 second finish, while sophomore Zechariah Schwinke was 10th in 19:57.55 and senior Brendan Dungan took 15th in 20:17.64. Senior Jared Eliuk earned 17th in 20:21.52 and sophomore Aaron Eliuk came in 68th with a 23:06.28 finish.

Helias Catholic freshman Will Roehl won the individual in 18:53.47. Helias scored 29 points to win the meet.

In the girls' division, the Lady Hornets did not record a team score. Helias won the meet by scoring 24 points.

Fulton sophomore Anna Bonderer finished 24th in 27:26.84, while freshman Alexis Martin took 26th in 27:46.11 and freshman Caitlin Sievert was 28th in 28:55.70. Freshman Ainsley Bobbitt finished 34th in 30:39.60.

Helias Junior Alicia Engelbrecht was victorious in the individual with 22:15.61 finish.

In the middle school girls' 2,500-meter race, Fulton did not record a team score and the North Callaway Ladybirds scored 84 points to win the meet.

Kaleigh Moore - from North Callaway - was victorious in the individual with a 9:51.52 finish. Rachel Jeffries took eighth in 10:47.75, while Emalee Edgar was 16th in 10:54.30. Julisa Moreno was 23rd in 11:00.70 and Hannah Cundiff was 50th in 11:55.17.

Fulton's Madison Dyro took 20th in 10:57.30, while Kalyn Wolfmeier took 33rd in 11:14.64. Maggie Larson took 66th in 12:09.48 and Emily Hauck came in 202nd in 20:05.98.

In the middle school boys' division, Fulton scored 464 points to take 17th, North Callaway did not record a team score and South Middle School from Wentzville claimed victory with 149 points.

Clement Mahoro - from Fulton - finished in 10:40.14 to take 86th, while Jesse Peterson was 92nd in 10:44.05 and Walter Larson took 103rd in 10:52.82. Zander Noel finished in 11:02.20 to take 112th and Mason Crane was 117th in 11:08.38.

Jude Greene - from North Callaway - took 133rd in 11:19.73 and Noah Scrogum followed up with an 11:20.28 finish to take 134th.

Fulton competes in the Boonville Invitational today at 4 p.m.

North Callaway runs in the Elsberry Invitational at 4 p.m. Monday.
