MEXICO, Mo. - The No. 7 seed Fulton Lady Hornets volleyball team upset the No. 2 Southern Boone Lady Eagles 26-24, 25-21 in the opening round of the Class 3, District 8 Tournament at Mexico High School on Monday.

Fulton (4-21-1) will face the winner between No. 3 seed Marshall and No. 6 Kirksville in the semifinals at 6:30 p.m. today. The Lady Owls and Lady Tigers played each other on Monday night. Results were not available at press time.

"I'm super stoked," Fulton head coach Megan Youse said. "My team came to play and I'm proud of them. We didn't let Southern Boone take the momentum very often. They did a tremendous job of putting together all those elements that we've been working on all season. It all came together tonight."
