Ladybirds come in second at Centralia

CENTRALIA, Mo. - North Callaway junior Reyna Schmauch repeated as individual champion with a time of 20 minutes, 53 seconds to direct the Ladybirds cross country team to a second-place finish at the Centralia Invitational on Tuesday.

Freshman Daelyn Schmauch came in second in 20:53.22 for North Callaway, which finished behind team champion Salisbury. Also medalling for the Ladybirds was junior Kyla Bertschinger, who was ninth in 22:34.

Freshman Brianna Douglas placed 31st in 25:24 for North Callaway and junior Brooke Fischer took 34th in 25:43.

Sophomore Khobi Kellerman came in 38th in 20:17 as the Thunderbirds finished ninth in the varsity boys' division. Also placing for North Callaway were sophomore Ean Rohrbach (55th, 21:34.43), sophomore Josh McCowan (62nd, 22:14), junior Jared Bailey (71st, 23:23), and sophomore Josh Craghead (77th, 24:43).

North Callaway runs in the Eastern Missouri Conference championships at 4 p.m. Monday at Elsberry.
