Gould, Craighead set to enter Fulton Wall of Fame

Bob Gould (class of 1972) and Gabe Craighead (class of 1996) will be inducted into the Fulton Wall of Fame during a ceremony Friday night at the Fulton Hornets' North Central Missouri Conference basketball matchup against Marshall.

Gould and Craighead will be honored - along with Brenda Hawkins for her service to the Wall of Fame - in Roger D. Davis Gymnasium after the junior varsity contest, which tips off at 6 p.m. The varsity game will follow the induction ceremony.

A Wall of Fame reception is also scheduled for 6:30 in the high school commons.

Gould starred in basketball and football for Fulton, while Craighead was a standout in baseball, basketball and cross country with the Hornets.

Gould was an all-district and all-conference selection with the 1971 Hornets football team that played for a Class 3A state championship. He went on to play both football and baseball at Central Methodist College in Fayette.

Gould was a baseball team captain with the Eagles in 1974-75, helping Central Methodist capture a Heart of America title in 1974 as an all-conference choice. He was also a co-captain and all-conference pick on the 1975 Eagles football team that won an HAC championship.

Gould was inducted into Central Methodist's baseball and football Hall of Fame.

He returned to Fulton and served as an assistant coach with the Hornets' football team from 1979-90. Gould was named head coach in 1991 after Bob Fischer retired and stayed in that position until 1996. He was also an assistant coach on the 1990 Hornets baseball team that captured a Class 3A state title.

Gould is already part of the Wall of Fame as a member of the 1971 Fulton football team that was inducted in 2013.

Craighead was an all-state selection with the Hornets in both baseball and basketball in 1995 and 1996, an all-district choice in basketball from 1994-96, an all-conference pick in basketball from 1994-96, and an all-conference performer in baseball in 1995-96.

He was also a candidate for McDonald's All-American and was nominated for both Mr. Show-Me Basketball and a Wendy's High School Heisman.

Craighead was part of the University of Missouri class of 2001 and played baseball for the Tigers.
