Girls' Basketball: Blair Oaks 70, Fulton 16

The Fulton Lady Hornets shot a dismal 12 percent (5-of-41) as a team in their decisive loss to the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons on Tuesday night at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium.

"We struggled to score," Fulton head coach TJ Quick said. "When you can't put the ball in the hole, you're gonna struggle. I think we got frustrated from that."

Blair Oaks bolted to a 22-6 lead at after the first quarter and sprinted to a 45-10 halftime advantage. The Lady Hornets (1-4) were unable to score in the third quarter as the Lady Falcons widened their lead to 65-10.

Senior guard Dionne Vaughn led Fulton with seven points and three rebounds, while sophomore guard Mattie Arnold had six points and five rebounds.

Makenna Kliethermes, Kellie Fredendall and Brooke Boessen paced Blair Oaks with 12 points apiece.

Fulton (0-2) dropped the junior varsity game 62-18. Sophomore forward Destri Dungan scored four points and had nine rebounds, while sophomore guard Alexis Sublett contributed four points.

The Lady Hornets (0-2) bowed in the freshman contest 66-6. Guard Nika Arnn finished with four points.

Fulton hosts North Central Missouri Conference opponent Marshall at 6 p.m. Thursday.
