FULTON, Mo. -- The Fulton Lady Hornets dropped to 0-2 despite piling up 11 hits against the Eldon Lady Mustangs in Tuesday night's home opener at the high school athletic complex.
Junior starter Kendalyn Roesner went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in and scored a run for Fulton, while sophomore shortstop Haden Trowbridge also finished 3-for-4 with a run scored. Sophomore right fielder Meadow Lungstrum was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Roesner went the distance in taking the loss, allowing eight runs - only three earned - on eight hits. She struck out seven, walked three and hit three batters.
The Lady Hornets won the junior varsity game 3-0.
Fulton hosts Marshall in its North Central Missouri Conference opener at 5 p.m. today.
