College women's soccer: William Woods 5, Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) 1

Junior forward Aurora Henriksen produced two goals to help the Lady Owls halt a three-game losing streak with a win over the Lady Lynx in Tuesday night's American Midwest Conference opener at Firley Field.

Henriksen quickly opened the scoring in the 3rd minute and her second goal in the 61st minute gave William Woods University (2-5) a 4-0 lead.

Junior defender Taylor Amlong (14th minute), sophomore forward McKenzie Gourley (50th minute) and freshman defender Chloe Overkamp (77th minute) also provided goals for the Lady Owls.

William Woods outshot Lindenwood University-Belleville by a commanding 22-8 margin, including 13-5 in shots on goal. The Lady Owls finished with a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Freshman goalkeeper Michyla Handley logged four saves for William Woods.

The Lady Owls travel to St. Louis for an AMC contest against Missouri Baptist University at 2 p.m. Saturday.
