The Lady Owls fell to 8-10 on the season after bowing to the No. 1 Lady Spartans 25-21, 19-25, 25-14 and 25-21 in Tuesday night's American Midwest Conference opener at Anderson Arena.
Sophomore middle blocker Hannah Kuehl paced William Woods University with 11 kills and senior middle blocker Jaclyn Zahn provided eight. Senior libero Kayton Coffee posted 15 digs and junior defensive specialist Mallorie Brooks chipped in with 12.
Junior setter Remie Johnson also tallied 30 assists for the Lady Owls.
William Woods remained at home for an AMC match against Harris-Stowe State University on Wednesday night. Results were not available at press time.
