Men's golf: No. 18 William Woods ties for ninth at NAIA championships

MESA, Ariz. - The No. 18 Owls shot a 292 in Friday's fourth and final round to share ninth place with Taylor (Indiana) University at the 68th-annual NAIA national championships.

William Woods University tallied a 61-over par, 1,197 total (307-303-295-292) at Las Sendas Golf Club.

Sophomore Logan Smith finished 13th with an 8-over 292 (73-73-74-72) to guide the Owls. Sophomore Tom North tied for 26th with an 11-over 295 (80-71-71-73), while sophomore Phillip Heller tied for 48th with a 20-over 304 (74-81-74-75).

Freshman Tom Doran tied for 61st for William Woods with a 25-over 309 (80-80-76-73). Senior Tyler Fieser tied for 69th with a 30-over 314 (81-79-80-74).

Texas Wesleyan captured the NAIA team title with a 1,166 total. Coastal Georgia's Mark Johnson was the individual champion with a 2-over 286.
