College track and field: William Woods' Van Harn earns All-American status in heptathlon

GULF SHORES, Ala. - Lady Owls junior Megan Van Harn became a three-time All-American in the women's heptathlon by taking third place with 4,797 points in the event Friday at the NAIA national outdoor championships.

Van Harn secured her finish in the heptathlon Friday by winning the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 20.64 seconds. She also came in fifth in the javelin (35.35 meters) and was 14th in the long jump (4.88).

On Thursday, she prevailed in the shot put with a throw of 12.81. Van Harn also took seventh in the 200 (:26.27), 11th in the 100 hurdles (:15.49) and 13th in the high jump (1.49).
