College women's tennis: No. 6 William Woods departs after loss in NAIA quarterfinals

MOBILE, Ala. — The sixth-ranked Lady Owls were eliminated at the 39th-annual NAIA national championships after being shut out by No. 3 Xavier University of Louisiana 5-0 in quarterfinal play Thursday.

William Woods University ended its season with a 16-7 record.
