The sixth-ranked Lady Owls were undermanned in bowing to the NCAA Division II Lady Hornets on Tuesday at the Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex.

William Woods University was playing without four of its six starting players as it dropped to 0-3 on the season.

Here are Tuesday's singles and doubles results:

No. 1 singles: junior Zlata Shuraeva (WWU) defeated Viktoria Mackova (ESU), 6-2, 6-1; No. 2: senior Felicia Cesar (WWU) def. Jessica Purdy (ESU), 6-7, 6-3, 10-6; No. 3: Silvana Caceres (ESU) def. senior Paige Smith (WWU), 6-0, 6-1; No. 4: Cyrielle Peyroche (ESU) def. freshman Asami Terajima (WWU), 6-0, 6-1; No. 5: Karen Santiago (ESU) def. freshman Gillian Henson (WWU), 6-0, 6-0; No. 6: Shannen Meyer (ESU) def. sophomore Kati Honigman (WWU), 6-0, 6-0.

No. 1 doubles: Shuraeva/Cesar (WWU) vs. Purdy/Peyroche (ESU), 4-1 (unfinished); No. 2: Mackova/Santiago (ESU) vs. Smith/Terajima (WWU), 5-0 (unfinished); No. 3: Meyer/Caceres (ESU) def. Honigman/Henson (WWU), 8-0.

The Lady Owls travel to Tennessee for matches against American Midwest Conference foe Freed-Hardeman University at 1:30 p.m. Friday and No. 18 Cumberland University at 10 a.m. Saturday.
