SPRINGFIELD — The Lady Blue Jays were swept in Monday's doubleheader after the Lady Eagles rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning in the second game.

Westminster College (0-4) had taken a 12-10 lead with two runs in the top of the ninth, before Central Methodist University (8-6) countered with its comeback.

Junior Katie Price — who started out as designated player and then pitched in the ninth — went 5-for-5 with a two-run home run, three runs batted in and three runs scored as the Lady Blue Jays amassed 12 hits.

Freshman first baseman Lauren Huskey also finished 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for Westminster. Freshman shortstop Laney Rosson was 1-for-5 with two RBI and scored a run.

Price (0-3) allowed the winning run while giving up two runs in one-third of an inning to suffer the loss.

Junior second baseman Taylor White went 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI in the opener as the Lady Blue Jays tallied nine hits. Freshman pinch-hitter Bailee Zemianek was 1-for-1 with an RBI and a run scored.

Price also took the loss in the first game, surrendering five runs — three earned — on seven hits in six innings. She struck out four and walked one.

Westminster begins its spring break trip to California with a doubleheader against Marymount University on Saturday.
