No. 21 Owls golf team finishes sixth in Florida

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - William Woods University sophomore Logan Smith came in 10th individually to guide the No. 21 Owls golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Gary Freeman Spring Invitational on Friday.

Smith logged a 10-over par 226 (74-76-76) as William Woods compiled a 71-over 935 total (308-314-313) on the LPGA International course. Sophomore Tom North tied for 35th with a 235 (78-79-78) and freshman Tom Doran was two shots back in a tie for 44th with a 237 (80-78-79).

Senior Mark Martin tied for 49th for the Owls with a 238 (82-80-76).

Augusta - led by medalist McCullough Pickens' even-par 216 (73-72-71) - captured the team title with a 14-over 878 (301-288-289).

William Woods plays in Missouri Western State University's Holiday Inn Express Invitational on March 18-19 at the St. Joseph Country Club.
