Women's basketball: Westminster 103, Iowa Wesleyan 61

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - Sophomore guard Kallee Dowler erupted for a game-high 30 points and the Lady Blue Jays surpassed 100 points for the second straight game in Saturday's SLIAC blowout of the Lady Tigers.

The win was the third in a row for Westminster College (13-3, 7-1 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference), which also manhandled Iowa Wesleyan University 78-55 on Nov 28 in Fulton.

The Lady Blue Jays were in charge from the start Saturday, leading 21-11 after one quarter. Westminster then outscored the Lady Tigers 25-11 in the second quarter to extend its lead to 46-22 at halftime.

The Lady Blue Jays turned the game into a rout in the third quarter, outscoring Iowa Wesleyan 37-19 to open up a commanding 83-41 edge.

Dowler - who was 11-of-16 from the field, including 8-of-13 from 3-point range - directed three players in double figures for Westminster, which shot 49 percent (37-of-76) overall and 46 percent (18-of-39) from behind the arc.

Senior guard Kendahl Adams logged 18 points and sophomore guard Kendal Miller came off the bench to add 17. Senior forward Mirrakohl Johnson pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Blue Jays to a decisive 43-24 advantage on the boards.

Darby Massner supplied 16 points to guide three players in double figures for the Lady Tigers (3-11, 2-6), who shot just 33 percent (21-of-63) as a team. Allie Massner had 15 points and Harriet Fowler followed with 14.

Westminster hosts a makeup SLIAC contest against Greenville (Illinois) University at 1 p.m. Monday.
