College: Salima, Lady Owls sink Missouri Valley in volleyball opener

MARSHALL - William Woods University senior opposite Nise Salima tallied a double-double with 13 kills and 12 digs to steer the Lady Owls volleyball team past Missouri Valley College 25-22, 19-25, 25-10 and 25-21 in Wednesday night's season opener.

Junior opposite Kate Doerhoff also supplied 12 kills for William Woods, while senior libero Kayton Coffee delivered 13 digs and sophomore defensive specialist Tori Roseman had 10. Junior setter Remie Johnson recorded 34 assists for the Lady Owls.

William Woods plays its home opener against No. 17 Central Methodist University at 7 p.m. Monday at Anderson Arena.
