Women's soccer: William Woods 5, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) 2

Freshman defender Abby Prather-Turner and sophomore forward Aurora Henriksen delivered two goals apiece as the Lady Owls toppled the Lady Lions for their first AMC win Monday.

William Woods University - which produced four of its season-high five goals in the first half - raised its season record to 3-5-1 and its American Midwest Conference mark to 1-1-1.

The Lady Owls tied the game at 1-1 when Prather-Turner scored her first goal off an assist from senior defender Claire Stark in the 17th minute. Senior defender Shelby Scanlan put William Woods in front with an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute and Prather-Turner followed with another unassisted goal in the 37th minute to make it 3-1.

Henriksen punctuated the Lady Owls' scoring with goals in the 42nd and 55th minutes, both coming on assists by freshman midfielder Rachel Humble.

Freed-Hardeman University (3-3-1, 1-2 AMC) tacked on a goal in the final minute.

William Woods outshot the Lady Lions 18-14, including 8-4 in shots on goal. The Lady Owls finished with a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Freshman goalkeeper Abbey West posted two saves for William Woods.

The Lady Owls host AMC foe Saint Louis College of Pharmacy at 11 a.m. Saturday at Firley Field.
