Men's soccer: William Woods 3, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) 2

HENDERSON, Tenn. - Sophomore defender Darren Wilson's unassisted goal in the 103rd minute lifted the Owls to the double-overtime AMC victory over the Lions on Monday night.

The comeback win was the third in a row for William Woods University, which improved to 6-2-2 overall and 3-0-0 in the American Midwest Conference. The Owls are 4-0-2 in their last six games.

William Woods trailed 2-0 Monday night when freshman forward Billy Nzojyibwami scored off an assist from senior midfielder David Marshall to start the 24th minute. The Owls then tied the game at 2-all and forced overtime on Marshall's unassisted goal in the 86th minute.

William Woods tallied a commanding 26-9 advantage over Freed-Hardeman University (3-4, 1-2 AMC) in overall shots, including 12-4 in shots on goal. The Owls also had a decisive 17-3 edge in corner kicks.

William Woods freshman goalkeeper Ben Faherty came up with two saves.

The Owls return home to face Saint Louis College of Pharmacy in an AMC matchup at 1 p.m. Saturday at Firley Field.
