BATESVILLE, Ark. - Junior forward Rodrigo Alves scored a goal in the 78th minute to give the WWU Owls an American Midwest Conference victory over the Lyon Scots on Saturday.
Junior defender Jesse Bowers recorded the assist on the goal. William Woods University (9-4, 3-3 AMC) recorded 10 shots - seven on goal - and six corner kicks. Freshman goalkeeper Jon Moore Jr. came up with five saves.
The Owls host an AMC game against Central Baptist (Ark.) College at Firley Field at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15.
