HANNIBAL - Senior outside hitter Rayleen Rivera came up with a match-high 10 kills as the Lady Owls downed the Lady Trojans 25-21, 18-25, 25-13 and 25-12 in Tuesday night's American Midwest Conference opener.
Senior outside hitter Tory Wiley and sophomore opposite player Kate Doerhoff added eight kills apiece for William Woods University (6-7), which won its second straight match. Junior libero Jessica Jensen chipped in with 20 digs and sophomore defensive specialist Brooke Reed had 12.
Sophomore setter Remie Johnson and freshman setter Tess Schannuth tallied 21 assists apiece for the Lady Owls.
William Woods faces Cottey College (6 p.m.) and host Avila University (8 p.m.) in a triangular Friday in Kansas City.
