Volleyball: Columbia College 3, William Woods 0

The Lady Owls' 12-match winning streak was halted after they were swept by the third-ranked Lady Cougars 25-10, 25-21 and 25-16 in an AMC clash Tuesday night at Anderson Arena.

William Woods University slipped to 16-8 on the season and 7-1 in the American Midwest Conference. Columbia College improved to 23-2 overall and is also 7-1 in the AMC.

Sophomore opposite player Kate Doerhoff topped the Lady Owls with nine kills and senior outside hitter Tory Wiley supplied seven. Sophomore defensive specialist Brooke Reed posted a team-high 13 digs and junior libero Jessica Jensen contributed 10.

Sophomore setter Remie Johnson also recorded 17 assists for William Woods.

The Lady Owls begin play in the Columbia College Tournament with matches Friday against John Brown (Arkansas) University at 1 p.m. and Bethel (Indiana) College at 5. William Woods wraps up the tournament Saturday with matches against Georgetown (Kentucky) College at 9 a.m. and No. 21 Central Methodist University at 11.
