ST. LOUIS - The William Woods Owls fell to 2-6 overall and 0-2 in the American Midwest Conference after a narrow 2-1 loss to the Missouri Baptist Spartans (6-1-1, 2-0) on Saturday.
William Woods took the lead when it scored a goal that went off Missouri Baptist in the 35th minute. The Spartans tied the game with a goal in the 52nd minute and followed with the winning goal in the 86th minute.
The Owls were outshot 21-9, including 14-3 in shots on goal. Missouri Baptist also finished with a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
William Woods hosts No. 11 Columbia College in an AMC clash at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Firley Field.
