Men's soccer: William Woods 3, Park 0

Freshman forward Billy Nzojyibwami had two goals as the No. 2 seed Owls shut out the No. 7 Pirates in the the quarterfinals of the American Midwest Conference postseason tournament Saturday afternoon at Firley Field.

Sophomore defender Roberto Duro-Sanchez's unassisted goal in the 35th minute put William Woods University (13-3-3) on the scoreboard. Nzojyibwami gave the Owls a 2-0 edge with an unassisted goal in the 46th minute, then he scored off an assist from senior defender Jordan Henderson in the 52nd minute.

William Woods outshot Park University (6-8-1) by a 17-11 margin, including 8-3 in shots on goal. The Owls also finished with a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.

William Woods freshman goalkeeper Iker Gonzalez tallied three saves to collect the shutout.

The Owls will now host No. 3 seed Missouri Baptist University in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Missouri Baptist (12-4-3) advanced with a 1-0 quarterfinal win over No. 6 seed Lindenwood University-Belleville (Illinois) on Saturday in St. Louis.
