PARKVILLE - The Lady Owls were swept by the No. 1-ranked Lady Pirates in a 29-27, 25-22 and 25-16 American Midwest Conference loss to close out the regular season Thursday night.
Sophomore opposite player Kate Doerhoff topped William Woods University (19-15, 9-3 AMC) with 13 kills. Junior libero Jessica Jensen tallied a team-high 19 digs, senior defensive specialist Melanie Kala supplied 14 and sophomore defensive specialist Brooke Reed contributed 10.
Sophomore setter Remie Johnson logged 32 assists for the Lady Owls.
Park University remained unbeaten at 27-0 and wrapped up the AMC regular-season title with a 12-0 mark.
William Woods will now wait to learn its seeding and quarterfinal opponent for the upcoming AMC postseason tournament.
