Women's soccer: William Woods chosen second in AMC poll

The Lady Owls were picked to take second place in the American Midwest Conference this season, according to the preseason coaches' poll announced Monday.

William Woods University went 13-6-3 overall and 9-1-2 in the AMC in 2017, earning a spot in the NAIA national tournament. The Lady Owls fell to third-ranked University of Northwestern Ohio 5-0 in the first round.

Columbia College was selected to win the AMC in the coaches' poll, while William Woods was second, Park University third and Missouri Baptist University fourth.

The Lady Owls start the 2018 season at home with a matchup at Firley Field against Central Methodist University at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20.
