Men's golf: No. 15 William Woods takes third at tournament

MACOMB, Ill. - The No. 15 Owls' White team recorded a 26-over par 602 total (304-298) to finish third at Western Illinois University's 46th-annual Beu/Mussatto Invitational on Tuesday.

Freshman Tom North paced William Woods University by tying for third place individually with a 3-over 147 (75-72). Senior Jack Clarkson tied for 12th with a 151 (77-74), while junior Tyler Feiser tied for 21st with a 153 (77-76).

Freshman Logan Smith tied for 36th with a 155 (79-76) for the Owls, while senior Will Rushworth was 50th with a 158 (75-83).

William Woods' Green squad took fifth place with a 608 total (319-289) and was guided by freshman Scott Young, who tied for fifth individually with a 4-over 148 (80-68). Freshman Phillipp Heller shared 12th place with a 151 (78-73).

Junior James Rogers tied for 17th with a 152 (81-71), while freshman Harvey Talarczyk tied for 46th with a 157 (80-77). Junior Mark Martin tied for 59th with a 162 (82-80).

Indian Hills Community College locked up the team championship with a 14-over 590 total (301-289). Cardinal Stritch University's Brian Murtagh was individual medalist with a 1-over 145 (74-71).

William Woods competes in the American Midwest Conference championships starting April 30 at Old Kinderhook Golf Course in Camdenton.
