Men's Soccer: William Woods 2, Missouri Baptist 0

Junior forward Rodrigo Alves and junior midfielder Anthony Moscatello each had a goal and an assist as the WWU Owls prevailed in their American Midwest Conference opener Tuesday night at Firley Field.

After a scoreless first half, Alves put William Woods University (7-1) on the board with his goal in the 55th minute. Moscatello tacked on his goal in the 66th minute.

Junior goalkeeper Conor Cable recorded two saves to post his fourth shutout of the season for the Owls, who outshot Missouri Baptist University (2-2-2, 0-1) by a 16-11 margin, including 9-2 in shots on goal.

William Woods also edged the Spartans 5-4 in corner kicks.

The Owls travel to Columbia College for an AMC match at 7 p.m. Saturday.
