Men's Soccer: Central 3, Westminster 1

The Central Dutch continued their winning streak with a victory over the Westminster College Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon. Two goals in the first half would be enough to build an insurmountable lead.

Sophomore forward Ian Meentemeyer got the scoring started with his second goal of the year in the 16th minute. Junior forward Miguel Pina would follow up in the 28th with a goal of his own.

The Blue Jays (1-4-1) would answer back near the end of the first with a goal from senior midfielder Mauricio Mateo. However, senior Bryce Leonard would add a goal in the 72nd to give the Dutch breathing room.

Westminster recorded five saves, but Central won the shot battle with a 14-5 advantage and a 10-2 advantage on corner kicks.

The Blue Jays will look to break their three-game losing streak on the road against Wisconsin-Whitewater at 1 p.m. Sunday.
