Men's basketball: College of the Ozarks 87, William Woods 73

POINT LOOKOUT - The Owls had no answers for the red-hot Bobcats, who shot 55 percent (32-of-58) from the floor on Monday night.

College of the Ozarks (6-1) was just as potent from 3-point range in shooting 40 percent (9-of-22). Junior forward Ethan Davidson produced a game-high 22 points for the Bobcats, while sophomore guard Brandt Cochran and freshman guard Calvin Allen added 17 points apiece.

William Woods University fell to 2-4 on the season, though its offensive output wasn't the problem. The Owls shot a respectable 47 percent (27-of-57) as a team and 37 percent (6-of-16) from behind the arc.

Senior forward Darrien Dickey provided 18 points on 70-percent shooting (7-of-10) to guide William Woods. Senior guard Deshaun Stark was almost as efficient, contributing 17 points on 60-percent shooting (6-of-10).

Junior guard Brian Enriquez was the other player for the Owls to score in double figures with 11 points. William Woods outrebounded College of the Ozarks 32-26, led by a game-high eight from Stark.

Stark also paced the Owls in assists with five, but William Woods only managed 10 assists to the Bobcats' 20.

The Owls begin American Midwest Conference play with a showdown at No. 17 Park University at 3 p.m. Saturday.
