Missouri softball tops Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Missouri softball got its first Southeastern Conference win of the season with a 5-1 win at No. 7 Texas A&M on Saturday to even the weekend series.

Kirsten Mack got Missouri on the board with a two-RBI single in the top of the first inning, then Anna Reed followed with an RBI single two hitters later. Natalie Fleming made it 4-0 Missouri with an RBI groundout in the top of the second. Texas A&M got on the board with an RBI double in the bottom half of the second, but Rylee Pierce got the run back on a solo home run in the top of the sixth.

Cheyenne Baxter (6-2) went the distance for Missouri, giving up one run on five hits with six strikeouts. Regan Nash went 2-for-3 for Missouri, while Braxton Burnside added a double.

Missouri (18-12, 1-3 SEC) will look to take the series against Texas A&M at noon today.
