ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - WWU junior Katie Warren overcame a two-shot deficit entering Tuesday's final round to wrap up the individual championship in the Holiday Inn Express Classic at St. Joseph Country Club.
Warren posted a two-day, 9-over par 153 total (76-77) to lead No. 10 William Woods University to a second-place team finish. The Lady Owls accumulated a 627 score (313-314), coming in two shots behind team champion Henderson State's 625 (313-312).
It was the fifth top-five finish of the season for William Woods.
Junior Fumika Matsumoto followed Warren in a tie for second place with a 155 (80-75). Junior Megan Cullen also tied for fourth place with a 157 (78-79), while freshman Lucy Matthews tied for 11th with a 162 (79-83).
Junior Alex Bankovich finished in a tie for 38th with a 176 (83-93).
The Lady Owls return home to host their own WWU Spring Invitational starting Monday at Tanglewood Golf Course.
