CULVER CITY, Calif. - Westminster College senior infielder Erica Burney was named to the 2017 Fastpitch News NCAA Division III All-American team Tuesday.
Burney was selected to the NFCA All-American third team and NFCA all-region team last season. She was also the Lady Blue Jays' first-ever St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the year.
Burney had a .540 batting average, led the SLIAC with 11 home runs and drove in 54 runs in 2016. She also tied a school record with 15 doubles.
Westminster opens its 2017 season with a doubleheader at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, against Maryville (Tennessee) and host Rhodes on Saturday, Feb. 4.
