Men's Basketball: Westminster 88, Kansas Christian 73

Junior forward Romo Tabb totaled a game-high 30 points to help the Westminster Blue Jays take down the Kansas Christian Falcons in a non-conference game on Monday to extend their win streak to five games.

Tabb made all nine of his shot attempts from the field and converted all of his 11 free throws.

Westminster (10-4) started the game with a 19-4 run that ended with a layup by Tabb with 14 minutes, 19 seconds to go in the half and controlled a 50-29 advantage at halftime.

"After having Saturday's game (against Eureka) rescheduled due to weather, I'm very happy we were able to get a game under our belts as we head back into conference play," Westminster head coach Matt Mitchell said. "Over the past few days, we have been able to get some guys some much-needed rest. This was a game to get them back in the flow."

Junior center Sean O'Brien and sophomore guard Cody Shaw produced 12 points apiece for the Blue Jays. O'Brien shot 6-of-6 from the field, while Shaw was 4-of-4. Westminster went 59 percent (27-of-46) from the floor.

"Romo and Sean clearly dominated today as they continue to lead us during this winning streak," Mitchell said.

Freshman guard Nick Thomas made all seven of his free throws as the Blue Jays went 82 percent (28-of-34) from the line.

Shaw and Tabb pulled down a team-high five rebounds apiece to help Westminster take a 37-29 edge on the boards.

Joshua Walker paced the Falcons - which shot 39 percent (26-of-67) from the field - with 24 points. Darwin James tallied 16 points, while Jacorey Washington added 10.

Westminster hosts a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game against Principia at 7 p.m. today.
