COLUMBIA - The No. 22 Owls had their five-game winning streak come to a halt as the Cougars clinched the American Midwest Conference title in Friday night's regular-season finale.
Freshman forward Billy Nzojyibwami's unassisted goal in the 67th minute was the only score for William Woods University (12-3-3, 9-1-1 AMC).
The Owls are the No. 2 seed for the AMC postseason tournament and will host No. 7 Park University in the quarterfinals at 6 p.m. Saturday at Firley Field.
