Cross Country: William Woods' Wilson earns third at St. Louis Fall Classic

ST. LOUIS - Senior Kaleb Wilson took third place for the WWU Owls with a time of 25 minutes, 46.3 seconds at the St. Louis Fall Cross Country Classic on Saturday.

William Woods University scored 151 points to earn fifth place as a team, while Cambellsville won with 44 points. William Carey's Geoffrey Kipchumba captured the individual title in 23:52.7.

Sophomore Alex Thompson earned ninth place for the Owls in 26:53.4, while senior Austin Bestgen was 45th in 28:40.4 and junior Jamie Porter followed in 46th place in 28:41.5. Freshman Matt Fringer was 55th in 29:08.6.

In the women's division, junior Hannah Rutherford came in fifth in 19:46.0 as William Woods amassed 131 points to take fifth place. Evangel scored 101 points to win the team title. College of the Ozarks' Torri Holder was the individual winner in 18:42.4.

Sophomore Alessandra Moss took 14th for the Lady Owls in 20:11.2 and junior Jami Brandow was 23rd in 20:33.4. Freshman Ryan Esterline earned 31st place in 20:56.6 and junior Megan Wilson took 62nd in 22:42.9.

William Woods competes in the American Midwest Conference championships on Friday, Nov. 4, in Belleville, Ill.
