Men's Golf: William Woods takes fourth at NAIA Preview

SILVIS, Ill. - The WWU Owls shot a two-day, 38-over par 606 team total to take fourth place at the NAIA fall preview on Tuesday.

William Woods University shot a 307 on Monday and a 299 on Tuesday. Grand View University won the tournament by shooting 34-over 602 (306-296).

Zachary Chegmidden (74-70) from William Penn University and Mitch Pfingsten (74-70) from Grand View both shot 2-over 144 to take first place in the individual.

Owls senior Billy McKenzie shot 4-over 146 (75-71) to finish tied for third with Mass Chiasson (76-70) from Cardinal Stritch University. Senior David Houlding shot 10-over 152 (75-77) to tie with Patrick Hardy (78-74) from Indiana Wesleyan for 13th.

Junior Jack Clarkson shot 13-over 155 (80-75) to end up in a four-way tie for 20th, while sophomore James Rogers was 14-over 156 (80-76) to finish in a six-way tie for 24th. Sophomore Mark Martin shot 18-over 160 (77-83) to finish in a five-way tie for 40th.

William Woods competes in the Columbia Cougar Invitational on Monday at the Columbia Country Club.
