William Woods shares runner-up again at NAIA women's golf championships

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The conclusion of the NAIA national championships had a familiar feel for the No. 1-ranked WWU Lady Owls.

William Woods University shot a 299 total in Friday's final round at Savannah Quarters Country Club to end up in tie for second place with SCAD-Savannah for the second year in a row. The Lady Owls and SCAD-Savannah both compiled 34-over par, 610 cumulative scores.

There was also a repeat at the top as Keiser (Florida) University - formerly Northwood - wrapped up its second consecutive national title, prevailing by 11 strokes with a 599 total.

Sophomore Katie Warren and senior Jodie Peacock directed William Woods with a pair of top-15 outcomes and were named to the NAIA all-tournament team. Warren finished in a three-way tie for sixth place with a 5-over 149 (75-74), while Peacock ended up in a two-way tie for ninth with a 150 (76-74).

Sophomore Andrea Agniel also tied for 41st for the Lady Owls with a 156 (82-74) and sophomore Celia Mansour tied for 47th with a 157 (78-79). Senior Myriam Hassan tied for 57th with a 159 (82-77).
