Women's Basketball: William Woods 72, Harris-Stowe State 65

The WWU Lady Owls extended their winning streak to four games when they defeated the Harris-Stowe State Lady Hornets in an American Midwest Conference game Sunday at Anderson Arena.

Harris-Stowe (5-5, 1-3 AMC) led 22-17 after the first quarter and held a 36-35 lead at halftime. William Woods (6-3, 3-1) outscored the Lady Hornets 22-13 in the third period to take a 57-49 advantage.

Senior guard April Gebke directed William Woods with 19 points as the Lady Owls shot 42 percent (23-of-55) from the field. Junior guard Jasmine Brown put up 12 points, while senior forward Kelsey Scherder scored 11 and freshman guard Kaycee Gerald tacked on 10. Gerald also pulled down a game-high nine rebounds to give the Lady Owls a 43-38 edge on the boards.

Angela Randall led Harris-Stowe - which shot 38 percent (25-of-66) from the floor - with a game-high 20 points. Asia Green came up with 13, while Alantis Sutton tallied 11 and Brionna Taylor scored 10.
