Women's Basketball: Greenville 81, Westminster 62

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Senior forward Andrea Zalis came up with a game-high 24 points in the Westminster Lady Blue Jays' St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss to the Greenville Lady Panthers on Saturday.

Greenville (4-2, 1-1 SLIAC) bolted to a 26-12 lead after the first quarter. Westminster (2-6, 1-1) outscored the Lady Panthers 16-11 in the second to cut Greenville's lead to 37-28 at halftime. The Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Blue Jays 21-14 in the third period to extend their advantage to 58-42.

"We started flat tonight," Westminster head coach Tracey Braden said. "Greenville is a good team and they have good depth I should have done a better job preparing the team."

Freshman guard Brooke Stauffer tallied 10 points for the Lady Blue Jays as they shot 36 percent (21-of-58) from the field. Sophomore forward Mirrakohl Johnson pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds, but Greenville took a 45-38 advantage on the boards.

Laura Goodnight directed the Lady Panthers with 22 points as Greenville shot 43 percent (29-of-68) from the floor. Wesley Woodard scored 10 points.

Westminster plays at Missouri S&T at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
