STERLING, Kan. - Junior forward Rodrigo Alves scored an unassisted goal in the 51st minute to give the WWU Owls a victory over the Sterling College Warriors in their season opener Friday.
William Woods University had 10 shots - four on goal - and two corner kicks. Junior goalie Conor Cable tallied one save.
The Owls played at Bethany (Kansas) College on Saturday. Results were not available at press time.
William Woods plays its home opener against Graceland (Iowa) University at Firley Field at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
