Runaways arrested after property damage

MILLERSBURG - Two Illinois runaways were arrested Friday, according to the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

The juveniles, a boy and girl both age 14, were picked up near Millersburg after a report of property damage in the 1600 block of Jade Road. Deputies were told the suspects had fled into the nearby woods. Assisted by the Missouri Highway Patrol, the deputies located the juveniles north of County Road 256.

The teens were referred to local juvenile authorities, according to the arrest report.

Deputies also reported two other, unrelated arrests from the last week.

Deputies arrested Brandon Labore, 30, of Holts Summit, at 12:31 p.m. Monday for trafficking drugs and possession of a controlled substance. The arrest resulted from an ongoing drug investigation in the 1400 block of Summit View Drive, south of Holts Summit.

During the investigation, in which the Highway Patrol assisted, deputies recovered methamphetamine, marijuana and items related to the sale of drugs. As of Tuesday, Labore remained in custody at the Callaway County Jail pending a court bond-setting hearing.

On Sunday, deputies conducted a criminal investigation in the 800 block of Manor Drive in Auxvasse. At about 4:35 p.m., they located Jonathan Swims, 28, of Auxvasse. Swims was wanted in Audrain County for a failure-to-appear warrant related to possession of a controlled substance.
