Stolen tools recovered during arrests

Stolen tools were recovered Tuesday following a pair of arrests.

According to the Fulton Police Department, a person living in the area of East Avenue and East 10th Street called at about 10:40 a.m. to report a theft. The victim stated new lawn tools and accessories worth more than $1,200 had been stolen from a garage in the early morning hours.

A witness reported to police that a red 1989 Ford pickup truck, identified as belonging to Fulton resident Mikael Tice, 27, had been parked adjacent to the garage.

A Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputy later spotted the vehicle parked next to a gas station on West Fourth Street. Officers responded and discovered evidence in the pickup truck's bed linking the truck's occupants, Tice and Devin Brown, to the burglary, police said. Stolen items were found in the vehicle. Brown is a 19-year-old resident of Auxvasse.

The two were arrested on charges of second-degree burglary and stealing. They were taken to the Callaway County Jail to be held without bond. The investigation is ongoing, according to the arrest report.
