It might be too early to deck the halls and pick out a tree, but it's the right time to sign up for SERVE's Adopt-a-Family program.

Registration to be an Adopt-a-Family recipient runs Monday at 1 p.m. through Oct. 26 at the SERVE office, 4901 County Road 304.

Each year, SERVE, Inc. organizes Adopt-a-Family. Families in need can register to get Christmas presents for their children and a food basket, while disabled and elderly adults can receive Christmas stockings and food baskets.

Those interested in adopting families may call 573-642-6388.

Last year, applications were streamlined by removing the online portion. Registrants need to gather their documentation and bring it to SERVE from 1-4 p.m. on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday; or 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on a Tuesday or Thursday.

The list of required documents is available at SERVE or at bit.ly/servelist.
